Tennessee cornbread recipe
heat your new "old" cast iron skillet in 450 degree oven with 1/8 cup oil or bacon drippings or lard
mix
2 cups Martha White® Self-Rising Enriched White Buttermilk Corn Meal Mix
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1/8 cup oil or mayo
Mix egg with buttermilk, then add meal and oil. Let sit until oven heats to 450.
Pour mixture into hot cast iron skillet. Bake until brown (about 25 minutes).
